What is the LIMITLESS hub?
A free-spinning inner shell. The outer body can slow down while the centre keeps spinning, which is what buys you the extra horizontal time.
Why does horizontal spin time matter?
Horizontal tricks drain a yoyo faster than anything else. More spin time is more combo before it dies.
Are these for beginners?
Not as a first yoyo. All four are unresponsive, so you need to know how to bind before you buy one.
But if you can already bind and you are trying horizontal combos for the first time, this is the series to learn on. In horizontal play the string drags on the middle of the yoyo and kills the spin fast, which is why the trick dies before you have worked it out. Which one should I get?
All four have the same LIMITLESS hub, the same 60mm width and the same 7075 aluminium body. What changes is the weight, the rim material and the player who designed it. Each one has its own advantage.
- DEVIANT LIMITLESS, 77g, monometal. No steel rims, so the weight sits closer to the middle and it feels quicker to turn. The cheapest way into the technology at $125, and the one to learn horizontal on.
- OUTLIER LIMITLESS, 78g, stainless steel rims. Brandon Vu’s. The most rim weight in the series, so it is the fast, powerful, stable one that holds a spin through a heavy combo.
- LOGIC LIMITLESS, 78g, stainless steel inner rims. Allon Chen’s. The steel sits inside instead of on the edge, so it feels the lightest of the four in the hand. Built for tight technical horizontal where you change direction a lot.
- XENON SUPREME, 77g, steel and polycarbonate rims. Xavier Ng’s. Two rim materials and a slightly smaller 57mm body. This is the endurance one, for combos that should have ended already.
